Ramie, Chinese grass, part of the Nettle family, a plant; looks, feels and acts like soft linen with not so noticeable wrinkling.
This fabric was found in a special little fabric store in Montana, a one of a kind piece of fabric, and of course, only one kimono made from it. Hand painted with dye and ombre edge.
Kimono is edged with self-fabric, 1/4 inch binding and gathered slightly at the waist with a sewn on 1 inch fabric belt. A hand-worked lampwork glass buckle slides on and is used as a closure.
